About The Programme

Balika Sansthan’s journey started with a mission to bring focused attention to girls, and help them further their educational aspirations. Taking its sister institute’s (for boys) mission forward, the Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan Balika Prakalp was started in 2020 under the aegis of the Bhaurao Devras Nyas for meritorious girls who, owing to a lack of resources, miss out on good education.

After results for high school examinations (the academic year 2019-20) were declared in July, the Sansthan invited schools to send in names of girls, who then had to sit for an online test.  

This test examined the roughly 500 candidates who had sent in their applications for candidacy at the Sansthan.

Following this, an offline - written exam - was conducted with Rubric’s Rostrum to create a shortlist of candidates.

Meticulous home surveys were done for each candidate and personal interviews were held, from which a total of 15 students were finally selected for the study program.

In September 2020, these 15 students were provided smartphones for online classes, books required for their respective competitive exams with an additional 2000/- INR Per Month to aid their study.  

Mentors from various fields of work have been brought in to guide the girls with their studies while at the institute. Through this program, we aim to provide students with personalized one-on-one guidance to facilitate their education at any and all times. The mentors have been carefully assigned to be able to cater to the needs of all students with an aim to help students understand their study material better. In all, mentors are to ensure a holistic approach of study for the girls and will address any academic/non-academic concerns that the student may have at any point.

With this curated and rigorous selection process, the Sansthan has been established with the aim to carefully select girls, and empower them to grow and create a meaningful impact in the world. With recreational and sports facilities like a shooting range, volleyball (to name a few), the Sansthan aims to align girls’ education with an overall development that ensures a wider learning canvas.
